Anything you do consistently over a long period is what gives you the result, and trading is the clearest example. The real results are in the long term, when you apply your plan day to day and expect the payoff at the end.<\/p>\n

With a prop challenge, a 10 percent target is realistic in one or two months. So why aim to do it in a week? Some try to do it in a day, and sometimes it works, but a trade that funds you in a day can also fail you in a day.<\/p>\n

Back in 2017 and 2018, challenges had a 30 day time limit. That tells you a month is roughly the average time it takes to pass, so plan around that instead of forcing it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Just show up and place the trade<\/h3>\n

Once you accept the timeframe is enough, all you have to do is show up every day and place the trade. That is it.<\/p>\n

I once placed a trade on a prop account and completely forgot about it. It sat open for two weeks and hit the 10 percent target on its own.<\/p>\n

So 10 percent is not that much, and you can get there with a single position. There is no reason to rush it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Be patient with your setup on a daily basis<\/h3>\n

The big picture is one thing, but you also apply patience day to day. You have a plan and a certain structure you are looking for.<\/p>\n

Do not trade if you do not see that structure, and be patient waiting for it to appear. When it does show up, take it.<\/p>\n

This is not about being scared of taking trades or being overly cautious. It is about knowing exactly what you need to see and waiting for it, so there is nothing left to think about when you execute.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How patience protects your psychology<\/h3>\n

A lot of traders lose big by losing one small trade, then trying to win it back with a bigger position, losing that, and chasing both. It keeps going until the account is gone.<\/p>\n

Then they are angry, they open another account, and the losing continues because the psychology is already wrecked. That is impulsivity and greed taking over.<\/p>\n

A patient trader loses a trade and says I will try tomorrow, or I will not even trade today because I do not feel good about it. That is how you avoid acting on emotion, and ironically it speeds up the whole process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
