Funding Traders Rules

Swaps

Funding Traders accounts are not swap free. Swap is charged on positions held overnight and over the weekend, and no swap rate card is published.

Swap free trading is not sold on its own. It comes only with the Zero Fees add-on, priced as a 15% uplift on the account price at checkout, which also removes the per lot commission.

Expert Advisors

Expert advisors are permitted only where they serve risk management, such as position size calculation. An advisor that places trades is allowed only if the trader programmed it, and grid and hedge advisors are banned outright.

An advisor written with AI is accepted only if the trader can explain the code. The terms go further than the help centre and require an exception from the risk team before any advisor is used.

News Trading

On the Pro programs news trading is unrestricted during the challenge phases. Once funded, no more than 30% of total profit may come from news influenced trades. Breaching that cap delays a payout rather than failing the account.

On Instant (Instant Funded) news trading is prohibited and terminates the account. No trade may be open from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a red folder release. The News Holding add-on, a 15% uplift, lets Instant accounts hold through news, but the 5 minute restriction around red folder releases still applies.

The help centre and the terms publish two different windows for Instant. For the full rule, see this page.

Weekend Holding

Overnight and weekend holding are allowed on the Pro programs, 1 Step (Pro), 2 Step (Pro6) and 2 Step (Pro10). Swaps apply.

For Instant (Instant Funded) the firm publishes two opposite rules. An announcement dated 29 June 2026 allows weekend holding with no forced Friday flatten, while the general trading guidelines, the terms and the withdrawal policy all fail the account for an open weekend position. Overnight holding is allowed either way. The conflict is set out on this page.

Hedging

Hedging across accounts is prohibited, including opposite positions on connected accounts. Hedge advisors are banned. Manual hedging inside a single account is not addressed either way in the firm's published rules.

Grid trading is prohibited, defined as three or more open positions on the same pair in the same direction. Martingale is also banned. Full detail on this page.

Consistency

The highest profit day is capped at 15% of total profit on Instant (Instant Funded) and 50% on 1 Step (Pro). The 2 Step programs have no consistency requirement.

It is calculated on realised profit and checked at payout, so failing it delays the payout rather than failing the account. Instant also requires the largest loss not to exceed the largest win, and holds back the first 3% of profit as a cushion. Read the full rule on this page.

Copy Trading

Copy trading is allowed between accounts you own. Copying another trader is not, and sharing signals is prohibited.

One profile per person is allowed, and a second profile means termination and a permanent ban. Shared or related IPs are reviewed; VPN and VPS use is allowed. Detail on this page.

High Frequency Trading (HFT)

High frequency trading is not allowed, and neither is latency arbitrage. A trade of 15 seconds or less counts as high frequency trading, and an average holding time below 2 minutes terminates the account.

There is no minimum trade duration as such, and no stop loss is required, though the firm strongly advises one. Risk per trade idea is capped at 2% of the initial balance on 1 Step (Pro) and on funded 2 Step accounts; Instant caps floating loss across all open trades at 1%. Instant also fails on any trade above 20 lots, while the Pro programs have no lot cap but flag sudden increases in position size for review.

Funding Traders Accounts

Funding Traders sells four programs: Instant (Instant Funded), 2 Step (Pro10), 2 Step (Pro6) and 1 Step (Pro). Select a program to see its targets and limits.

Propvator lists these account sizes on the 1 Step and 2 Step programs:

$5K
$10K
$25K
$50K
$100K
$200K
$350K
$500K

Targets are measured on closed balance with all positions flat. Maximum loss is static on both 2 Step programs and does not trail in profit. 1 Step (Pro) uses 10% trailing the highest recorded balance, and Instant (Instant Funded) uses 6% trailing until 3% profit is made, after which it locks to the initial account size and does not reset on payout.

The 2 Step programs need 4 trading days per phase, 8 across the evaluation, and 2 once funded. For 1 Step (Pro) the firm's pages disagree: the rules give 2 trading days and the homepage 4, with 2 once funded. Instant is listed with no minimum trading days on the homepage, while the payout rule requires 5 profitable days of at least 0.25% per rolling 30 days. No program has a time limit. An account with no trade placed within 30 days of the purchase date is closed permanently.

Risk per trade idea is capped at 2% of the initial balance on 1 Step (Pro) and on funded 2 Step accounts. Instant caps floating loss across all open trades at 1% and fails on any trade above 20 lots. The Pro programs have no lot cap.

Evaluation accounts are unlimited. Funded capital is capped at $400,000 across Instant accounts and $300,000 across Pro accounts, and one profile per person is allowed.

Funding Traders Drawdown

Every Funding Traders account carries a daily loss limit and a maximum loss limit. Breaching either one ends the account. Maximum loss is static on the 2 Step programs and trailing on 1 Step (Pro) and Instant (Instant Funded).

Daily loss is 5% on 2 Step (Pro10) and 3% on 2 Step (Pro6), 1 Step (Pro) and Instant. The reference point differs by program: the starting day balance on 2 Step, the starting day equity on 1 Step, and the higher of the two on Instant. The terms publish a fourth version for 2 Step, and no reset time or timezone is published.

Instant (Instant Funded)

Trailing 6%

6% trailing the balance until the account has made 3% profit, then locked to the initial account size. It does not reset when a payout is taken.

Example: on a $100,000 account the limit starts at $94,000 and follows the balance up. Once the account reaches $103,000 the limit locks at $100,000 and does not move again. Daily loss is 3%, taken from the higher of the day's starting balance or equity.

1 Step (Pro)

Trailing 10%

10% from the highest recorded account balance. The level trails higher as the balance rises and does not fall back.

Example: on a $100,000 account the limit starts at $90,000. After the balance reaches $110,000 the limit sits at $99,000. Daily loss is 3%, taken from the starting day equity.

2 Step (Pro6)

Static 6%

6% of the account size, fixed on the account size and unmoved by profit.

Example: on a $100,000 account, the account breaches if equity or balance falls below $94,000. Daily loss is 3%, taken from the starting day balance.

2 Step (Pro10)

Static 10%

10% of the account size, fixed on the account size and unmoved by profit.

Example: on a $100,000 account, the account breaches if equity or balance falls below $90,000. Daily loss is 5%, taken from the starting day balance.

Separate from both limits, risk per trade idea is capped at 2% of the initial balance on 1 Step (Pro) and on funded 2 Step accounts. On Instant the cap is 1% of the initial balance, measured as floating loss across all open trades.

Platforms

MT5

Funding Traders runs on MetaTrader 5 (MT5). It is the platform named in the firm's help centre, and it is the one to plan around on every program: Instant (Instant Funded), 1 Step (Pro), 2 Step (Pro6) and 2 Step (Pro10).

MT5 handles charting, order types and automation through Expert Advisors, but Funding Traders restricts what an advisor may do. Advisors are permitted only for risk management, an advisor that places trades must be one the trader programmed, and grid and hedge advisors are banned. The Rules section has the full wording.

Spreads and swap rates are not published as a fixed list, and there is no swap rate card. Commission is charged per lot in the platform on every instrument except indices.

One marketing page also lists cTrader and DxTrade, and the same page adds MetaTrader 4. The help centre does not name any of them, and the firm has not reconciled the two lists, so they are not treated here as platforms on offer.

Funding Traders Scaling

Scaling Plan

Each scale-up adds 25% of the original starting balance. The plan runs up to $2,000,000 in simulated capital and applies to funded accounts on every program, including Instant (Instant Funded).

The increase is always calculated on the original balance, not the current one. A $100,000 account gains $25,000 per step.

How to Get a Scale-Up

Two consecutive calendar months, both profitable and totalling at least 8% from the initial balance, qualify the account. The account must be at its initial balance when the increase is applied.

Funded capital is otherwise capped at $400,000 across Instant accounts and $300,000 across Pro accounts. Evaluation accounts are unlimited. For a fuller breakdown, see this page.

Funding Traders FAQs

Which Funding Traders program should I choose?

Instant (Instant Funded) funds on purchase with no profit target, but news trading is banned and any trade above 20 lots fails the account. 2 Step (Pro10) asks 10% then 5% with a 5% daily loss. 2 Step (Pro6) asks 6% then 6% with a tighter 3% daily loss. 1 Step (Pro) asks 10% in one phase, with a 10% limit that trails the highest balance.

Is there a time limit to complete the challenge?

No. Funding Traders publishes no time limit on any current program. The only clock is inactivity: if no trade has been placed within 30 days of the purchase date, the account is closed permanently.

When do I get paid, and how much of the profit is mine?

The split is 90% on Instant (Instant Funded) and 1 Step (Pro) and 80% on the 2 Step programs, and checkout add-ons raise it to 90% or 100%. The first payout comes 14 days after the first trade on Instant and 1 Step, and 21 days on 2 Step, then every 14 or 21 days on the same cycle. The bi-weekly add-on moves 2 Step to 14 days including the first payout, and the on demand add-on lets Instant accounts withdraw at any time.

Instant also requires 5 profitable days of at least 0.25% per rolling 30 days before a payout. Minimum withdrawal is $200 by bank through Rise or $50 by crypto. Methods are covered on this page.

Is the evaluation fee refunded after a payout?

Funding Traders publishes three answers. The help centre says accounts bought before 8 May 2026 are refunded with the first payout and later ones with the second, the terms say the second, and the withdrawal policy says the first. The refund does not apply to Instant (Instant Funded) at all.

Can I get a refund on a challenge I have not used?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase, provided no order has been opened on the account. Requests go by email and are processed within 2 business days to the original payment method. The amount reflects the discounted price paid, minus fees the firm does not itemise.

Can I reset a failed account?

Within 48 hours of the breach. A failed first phase or Instant account resets at 50% of the original cost. A failed second phase resets in place at 150%, or restarts from phase 1 at 50% off. One recovery per account is allowed, and using Revive instead removes refund eligibility.

How many accounts can I hold?

Evaluation accounts are unlimited. Funded capital is capped at $400,000 across Instant accounts and $300,000 across Pro accounts. One profile per person is allowed, and a second profile means termination and a permanent ban.

What happens on a breach?

A breach of daily loss, maximum loss, risk per trade, the Instant lot cap or news rule, inactivity or the holding time rules terminates the account immediately. A breach of the consistency rule or the 30% news profit cap only blocks the payout until the trader trades back into compliance.

Funding Traders Discounts

The Funding Traders discount code is available on this page. The live code sits in the banner at the top of the page and can be copied with one click. It is updated regularly to reflect the highest discount currently available, so the code shown is always the best active offer.

A purchase made through Propvator also includes a Buy One, Get One (BOGO) offer at payout and cashback on the purchase. In total, a trader receives a discount on the account through the code, a free account of the same size at payout, and cashback on what they spend. (T&Cs apply)

More about Funding Traders

Can I try Funding Traders before I buy a challenge?

Yes. Funding Traders publishes a read only demo login, so you can open MetaTrader 5 and TradeLocker and watch its real spreads, commissions and swaps before paying for anything. The server, login and password are on the Funding Traders demo account page.

What do other traders say about Funding Traders?

Aggregated trader feedback puts Funding Traders at 3 out of 5, which reads as mixed. The Funding Traders trader sentiment page breaks that down into payouts, trading conditions and customer support, and says what sits behind each score.

Where can I find every Funding Traders rule explained?

Each rule has its own guide rather than one long page, so you can read only the one that affects your strategy. The Funding Traders directory indexes all of them, from news trading and weekend holding to expert advisors, copy trading, drawdown and payouts.
