Account Type
There are no news trading restrictions on any evaluation account or on an Advanced qualified account. On Zero, Standard and Direct qualified accounts, positions may be held through a release but no order may be executed within 2 minutes before or 2 minutes after a high impact event. The reference calendar is ForexFactory and the events are the red folder releases tied to the asset traded. A first violation is a warning, profit inside the window is voided and the payout is denied.
Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted on simulated accounts. Every trade must be closed before 16:20 ET and the firm closes open positions if the trader does not. The market session runs 18:00 ET to 17:00 ET and is closed from Friday 17:00 to Sunday 18:00 ET. Overnight holding is permitted only on live accounts.
AI, bots and other automated trading mechanisms are prohibited across all account types, as is any form of hands off or continuous day and night trading. Semi automated trading, where an indicator gives the signal and the trader executes manually, is permitted. High frequency trading is restricted, particularly where it produces more than 100 trades in a day. Copy trading is allowed only where one person copies across their own Alpha Futures accounts, and automated, group and reverse copying are prohibited.
Hedging and reverse trading are prohibited at both evaluation and qualified stage. Going short on one account while long on another is banned, and so is holding long NQ against short MNQ on the same account. Tick and micro scalping, defined as a pattern of trades under 10 ticks and under 2 minutes, is prohibited, although the firm states there is no rule requiring a position to be held past a set time.
Yes on every evaluation account and on an Advanced qualified account. On Zero, Standard and Direct qualified accounts you may hold through a release but may not execute an order within 2 minutes before or after a high impact event on the ForexFactory calendar. Profit made inside that window is voided and the payout is denied.
Not on simulated accounts. All trades must be closed before 16:20 ET each day and the firm closes them if you forget. The session is closed from Friday 17:00 ET to Sunday 18:00 ET. Overnight holding is permitted only on live accounts, where margin requirements are higher.
No. AI, bots and other automated trading mechanisms are prohibited across all account types, along with any form of hands off or continuous automation. Semi automated trading is permitted, meaning an indicator may generate the signal but the trader must place the order.
Yes, but only where a single person copies across their own Alpha Futures accounts. Automated, group and reverse copy trading are prohibited. The firm advises using the smallest or least profitable account as the leader.
No. Going short on one account while long on another is prohibited at both evaluation and qualified stage, and holding long NQ against short MNQ on the same account is given as a further prohibited example.
Breaching the Maximum Loss Limit on a qualified account closes it. In evaluation it ends eligibility to qualify until you buy a reset or the subscription rebills. The Daily Loss Guard only locks the account until the next trading day. Prohibited practices void the profit involved, end the agreements and put every passed evaluation under review.
