Rules
FTUK has removed swap fees from all instruments on TradeLocker and Match-Trader to keep things as simple as possible for traders.
FTUK allows the use of risk management EAs and trading bots. However, the following strategies are strictly prohibited, whether or not an EA or bot is used: Martingale, tick scalping, reverse arbitrage trading, latency arbitrage trading, hedge arbitrage trading, and grid trading or High-Frequency Trading (HFT), defined as opening and closing trades within 30 seconds.
News trading is fully allowed on the Instant funded account with no restrictions. On 1 Step, Flex, and 2 Step accounts, news trading is not allowed by default during evaluation and funded phases. No trades can be opened or closed within 5 minutes before or after a high-impact news event.
Violating this rule results in an immediate account breach. The News Trading add-on must be purchased at checkout to unlock news trading on 1 Step and 2 Step accounts. The Flex account does not have the add-on available. For full details on FTUK's news trading rule, check out this page.
Traders are allowed to hold positions overnight and over the weekend, providing greater strategic control when planning and executing trading strategies. This enables traders to take advantage of market movements beyond standard trading hours and implement longer-term strategies without the pressure of closing positions within a single day.
Normal hedging and group hedging are not permitted. Group hedging involves multiple traders coordinating their positions to collectively hedge risk across their accounts.
The consistency score currently applies to the Instant Funding Program only and must be met before any payout or account scaling can be achieved. On the Instant Funding Program, payouts can be requested on demand or scaling triggered if: your account is in profit, your account is flat with no running or pending trades, and your consistency score is 20% or lower. There are no minimum trading days required and no profit target to reach in order to get paid or scale up.

FTUK publishes two different Two Step profit targets. Its programs page, its Two Step page and its scaling plan all state 6% in each phase, which is the figure shown above. The homepage rules table states 8% in phase one and 6% in phase two.
Instant Funding has no profit target to get funded. A 10% level target applies at each funded level and gates that level's payout and the move to the next level.
The profit split is published as up to 80% across the forex programs. Two Step pays 80% at every level. FTUK's One Step page and its scaling plan describe One Step and Instant Funding as starting at 50% and rising to 80% across the funded levels, while the homepage rules table shows 80% on One Step from the first funded level. The Flex Challenge page also offers a 90% option in its own earnings calculator.
There is no maximum trading period on any forex program. Flex Challenge needs 1 trading day in the evaluation and none once funded, Instant Funding needs none, One Step needs 4 trading days at every stage including each scale up, and Two Step needs 3 per phase and per level. A trading day only counts if it produces at least 0.5% profit on the stage's starting balance. An account hard breaches after 30 consecutive days without a trade.
Flex Challenge and Instant Funding run from $5,000 to $100,000. FTUK's One Step and Two Step pages list $10,000 to $100,000, while the homepage selector and checkout also carry a $5,000 account on both.
FTUK also sells two futures programs, One Step SIM and Instant SIM Funding, which run on the FTUK XT platform. Propvator lists FTUK as a forex firm, so they are not covered above.
Every FTUK forex account carries a daily loss limit and a maximum loss limit. The daily limit is measured against the higher of closed balance or equity, counting all open and closed trades, and it is set and reset at 22:00 UTC. FTUK runs its whole system on UTC, so each trading day runs from 22:00 UTC to 21:59 UTC.
The daily limit is 4% on One Step and 5% on Flex Challenge, Instant Funding and Two Step. The maximum loss limit is where the programs differ most: three of the four trail, and Two Step does not.
The maximum loss starts 6% below the initial balance and trails the highest closing balance. Once it reaches the initial balance it locks and stops trailing.
Example: On a $100,000 account the limit starts at $94,000. At a closing balance of $104,000 it moves to $98,000. At a closing balance of $106,000 it reaches $100,000, locks there, and does not move again. The daily limit is 5%, so on a flat day the floor sits at $95,000.
FTUK calls this a relative drawdown. It is measured on balance, trails the highest closing balance, never moves back down, and locks permanently once it reaches the account's starting balance.
Example: On a $100,000 account the limit starts at $94,000. At a closing balance of $106,000 it reaches $100,000 and locks. A later loss back to $102,000 leaves the limit at $100,000. The daily limit is 5%.
Instant Funding is the only program with the Increased Drawdown add-on, which raises the relative maximum loss from 6% to 8%. It does not change the 5% daily limit.
Same relative mechanic as Instant Funding, at 8% instead of 6%. It sits 8% below the highest closing balance and locks once it reaches the starting balance.
Example: On a $100,000 account the limit starts at $92,000. At a closing balance of $105,000 it moves to $97,000. At a closing balance of $108,000 it reaches $100,000 and locks. The daily limit is 4%, the tightest of the four programs.
Two Step is the one program that does not trail. The maximum loss is fixed 8% below the starting balance of the phase or level and is measured on equity. It does not move as the account grows.
Example: On a $100,000 account the account breaches if equity falls below $92,000. At a balance of $115,000 the limit is still $92,000. The daily limit is 5%.
Note that FTUK's programs page and parts of its Two Step page still describe this limit as trailing. Its homepage rules table, the Two Step page hero and the help centre all state it is static at every level, which is the position taken here.
Payout Locker applies to One Step and Two Step once funded. After 10 trading days at the level, the first payout request moves the maximum loss limit up to that level's starting balance for the rest of the level. Later withdrawals do not move it again, and it resets at the next level.
FTUK offers MetaTrader 5 on every forex program, with advanced charting, multiple order types, depth of market and Expert Advisor support. It is available on desktop and mobile, with no web version.
MetaTrader 5 is not available to US traders. FTUK states that US traders are limited to TradeLocker and MatchTrader.
MatchTrader is offered on every forex program. FTUK also spells it Match-Trader on parts of its site. It runs as a web platform, so nothing needs installing.
MatchTrader is one of the two platforms open to US traders.
FTUK XT is FTUK's own futures platform. All futures accounts run exclusively on it, and it is not used for the forex programs. FTUK says more futures platforms will be added later.
Commission is the same on every platform and account type: $4 per standard lot on forex pairs only, with nothing charged on commodities, indices or cryptocurrencies.
Each level doubles the account balance. On a $100,000 account the balance runs $100,000 at Level 1, then $200,000, $400,000, $800,000, $1,600,000 and $3,200,000 at Level 6.
The trigger is a 10% gain on the level's starting balance. That applies to One Step, Instant Funding and, on FTUK's scaling plan, to each funded Two Step level. The Two Step challenge and verification phases use a 6% target before funding.
Once all trades are closed the account goes into read only mode while FTUK reviews it, which the firm says usually takes under 24 hours. Scaling is awarded at the company's discretion after a successful account assessment.
On FTUK's scaling plan the profit split moves with the level. Two Step pays 80% at every level. One Step runs 50% at Level 1 up to 80% by Level 6, and Instant Funding runs 50% at Level 1 up to 80% at Level 7. FTUK's homepage rules table instead shows a flat 80% on One Step from the first funded level.
The standard plan runs to Level 6, which is $3,200,000 from a $100,000 account. A seventh level doubles that to $6,400,000 and is only reachable by buying the Level 7 Unlock add-on.
The Level 7 Unlock add-on is sold on One Step and Two Step only. It is not available on Instant Funding or on Flex Funded accounts.
Scaling starts once a trader passes the evaluation on One Step, or the evaluation and verification on Two Step. On Instant Funding it is active from purchase. In all cases the funded account starts at Level 1. Free trial and competition accounts are excluded.
Flex Challenge works differently. FTUK does not publish a balance increase for Flex. Its help centre states that what steps up on each 10% profit is the profit split and the consistency allowance, from 60% and 20% at Level 1 to 90% and 40% at Level 6. The Flex pages themselves headline the split as up to 80%.
On Instant Funding and Flex Challenge the level rate is paid only if the whole level's profit is withdrawn in one request. Splitting it into smaller requests pays the base rate instead.
Instant Funding and Flex Challenge pay on demand. There are no minimum trading days, and the account has to be flat, in profit and inside the consistency limit. One Step and Two Step pay every 2 weeks, and the first payout needs 10 trading days at that level. A Weekly Payouts add-on cuts the cycle to 7 days on One Step and Two Step.
Requests are approved 24 to 48 working hours after the accounts team finishes its review, and funds land within 1 to 3 working days. Payments go out through RiseWorks or in crypto. FTUK does not publish a minimum payout amount for its forex accounts.
Yes on funded accounts. Every rules table FTUK publishes shows news trading as allowed on Flex Challenge, Instant Funding, One Step and Two Step, and the homepage headlines no news restrictions.
Evaluations are the exception. The One Step and Two Step pages sell full news trading on evaluations as a paid add-on. FTUK does not publish what restriction that add-on lifts, and it does not publish a price for it.
Yes, on every program and at every stage. FTUK states there is no limit on trade duration and that weekend holding is allowed.
One restriction applies. Under the partial closing policy, if you partially close a trade the remaining portion cannot be held into the next trading day.
Yes for risk management EAs, with a banned strategy list that applies whether or not a bot is used: martingale, tick scalping, reverse arbitrage, latency arbitrage, hedge arbitrage, grid trading and high frequency trading, which FTUK defines as opening and closing a trade within 30 seconds. Breaking any of them closes the account.
A 30 second minimum trade duration applies on all forex and futures accounts, including when stop loss or take profit is hit first. A VPS or VPN is allowed as long as trades originate from the same IP address.
Only from your own outside accounts. Copying between an outside account and an FTUK account is permitted in either direction, provided the outside account is legally tied to you. Copying between two FTUK accounts is not allowed, and placing the same trades on more than one FTUK account is treated as a violation.
You may hold up to 3 forex and 3 futures accounts. FTUK asks that each one runs a different strategy, and warns that trading the same asset across accounts can be flagged as copy trading.
On some programs only. It applies to Instant Funding and to Flex Funded accounts, and to both futures programs. One Step and Two Step have no consistency rule. The score is the biggest winning day divided by total account profit, measured at the 22:00 UTC rollover, and it resets after a payout or a scale up.
The threshold loosens as you scale, from 20% at the first levels to 40% at the top level on both Instant Funding and Flex. Exceeding it is not a breach and does not close the account. It blocks payouts and scaling until the average comes back down.
No. FTUK publishes no maximum trading period on any forex program, at any phase or level. Minimum trading days are 1 on the Flex Challenge evaluation, none on Instant Funding, 4 on One Step and 3 per phase on Two Step. A day only counts as a trading day if it produces at least 0.5% profit on the stage's starting balance.
There is an inactivity rule in the other direction. A trade must be placed and closed at least once every 30 days or the account hard breaches. Breaks of 30 to 90 days can be arranged with support in advance, and anything longer is handled case by case.
You can get 20% off FTUK using code PROPVATOR. This code may expire at any time, so if you're planning to get an account from FTUK, use our code and purchase through our link to get the discount and cashback on your purchase.
Not yet. FT UK has not published a demo login we are able to share, so there is no way to inspect its live pricing without buying an account. The FT UK demo account page will carry the server, login and password as soon as one exists.
Aggregated trader feedback puts FT UK at 3 out of 5, which reads as mixed. The FT UK trader sentiment page breaks that down into payouts, trading conditions and customer support, and says what sits behind each score.
Each rule has its own guide rather than one long page, so you can read only the one that affects your strategy. The FT UK directory indexes all of them, from news trading and weekend holding to expert advisors, copy trading, drawdown and payouts.
