Everyone has a plan before the session. The problem is never the plan on paper, it is the moment you quietly decide to ignore it.
That moment is short and it is easy to miss. A trading meditation trains the awareness to catch it while it is happening, not after the damage is already done.
The plan is not where it breaks
You wrote a good plan. Clear entries, a size, a stop. On a calm morning it all makes sense.
Then price does something and you feel a pull to move the stop, add size, or take a trade that is not on the list. The plan did not fail. You overrode it.
Catch the exact moment you are about to break it
There is a tell right before you break a rule. A tightness in your chest, a story in your head about why this time is different, a hand already moving toward the mouse.
Awareness is noticing that tell in real time. Meditation is how you practise noticing, so the break moment gets loud enough to catch before your hand finishes moving.
The plan does not fail on its own, you talk yourself out of it, and that talk is catchable.
“The plan never fails on paper, you break it in one quiet moment you did not notice.”
Trade from the line
Most rule breaks happen when you are off the line. Above it you are rushing and want more. Below it you are scared and want out early.
On the line you can see the plan clearly and follow it without a fight. Coming back to that flat, awake state is the whole point, and it comes straight from Best Loser Wins by Tom Hougaard.
Decide the response before the moment
Willpower in the moment is weak. The real move is to decide your response ahead of time, while you are still calm.
If price hits your stop, you are out, no negotiation. If the setup is not on the list, you do not take it. A short trading meditation before the open is where you set that intention.
You cannot out muscle the urge live, so make the call while you are still calm.
Come back to the line with the Focus meditation
Sticking to a plan is really a focus skill. The more time you spend on the line, the less often you drift off it mid trade.
Our Focus meditation, Finding The Line, is built for that. Run it before you trade so the plan and the calm to follow it are already in place when price starts moving.
Seven guided trading meditations, made around exactly what traders go through, not generic calm. Pick the one that fits your day.

Because the plan is fine, the break is emotional. A trading meditation builds the awareness to catch the exact moment you are about to override it, when you can still stop yourself.
Decide the response before the session. If price hits your stop, you are out, no negotiation. Setting that intention while calm beats trying to hold the line once you are already off it.
