FXIFY Futures Weekend Holding Rule
The Simple Answer
No. FXIFY Futures runs a 6 PM EST to 5 PM EST session and requires all trades closed by 4:59 PM EST each day. Markets are closed from Friday 5 PM EST until Sunday 6 PM EST, so nothing carries across the weekend. If you forget, the system closes your positions for you.
Below is a breakdown of how the FXIFY Futures weekend holding rules apply across different account types and stages.
Breakdown by Account Type
Standard Plan
The Standard one-step evaluation runs on the firm-wide session. All trades must be closed by 4:59 PM EST each day, with a new trading day starting at 6 PM EST. Standard also carries the tightest daily drawdown at 2 percent, so a position running into the close is exposed on both rules at once.
Expert Plan
Expert follows the same times with more daily room at 3 percent. The extra drawdown headroom does not extend your holding window.
Straight to Sim Live Plan
Sim Live accounts are funded from day one and sit under the same session boundary, with a 2.5 percent daily drawdown alongside it.
How the week runs
FXIFY gives a worked example: the E-Mini S&P 500 market opens at 6 PM EST on Sunday and the daily candle closes at 5 PM EST on Monday. Markets are closed from Friday 5 PM EST until Sunday 6 PM EST, which is the weekend gap the rule exists to keep you out of.
Session Close and Reopen Times
Futures accounts do not pay swaps, so what matters instead is knowing exactly when you have to be flat and when the market comes back. These are the times that govern that.
Warning System for Weekend Holding Violations
FXIFY closes your trades for you if you forget, but it recommends against relying on that. Its own wording: if you forget to close your trades, our system will automatically do it for you, however we recommend closing them manually to stay aware of your P&L in real time. Worth pairing with the daily drawdown rule, which is not a hard breach either: reaching it closes the account for trading for the rest of the day and trading resumes the next day after the reset.
Final Comments
Weekend gap risk is the reason this rule exists, and it is why almost every futures firm wants you flat before the close on Friday. Treat the auto-close as a backstop rather than a plan, because the firms that offer it are the same firms that tell you not to rely on it.
