Breakdown by Platform

Tradovate

Tradovate is TradeDay main platform and the one it recommends starting on. It is fast, stable and works across macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, with a dedicated mobile app as well as a browser login. It also acts as the hub for the CQG side of the setup, since NinjaTrader, TradingView and Jigsaw all integrate with it.

NinjaTrader

TradeDay provides a free version of NT8 through NinjaTrader, or you can use your own multi-broker or single-broker licence. A single-broker licence must be enabled with NinjaTrader as the broker. Using your own licence does not reduce commission costs. The TradeDay build runs on the CQG feed and is fully integrated with Tradovate in both directions, so a trade placed on NinjaTrader appears in Tradovate and the reverse.

TradingView

TradingView is free to connect but you need your own TradingView licence. It integrates fully with Tradovate and is available on both evaluation and funded accounts.

Jigsaw

Jigsaw is free to connect but requires your own Jigsaw LIVE licence, and it needs level 2 market data. It runs on either feed. On a funded account, running Jigsaw and Tradovate at the same time needs two separate data feeds.

R Trader Pro

R Trader Pro is Rithmic own platform, downloaded from rithmic.com. Set Orders, Market Data and Allow Plugins to On, Aggregated Quotes to Off unless you need it, System to Rithmic Paper Trading and Gateway to Chicago Area. After signing in you accept the two CME agreements. It must be open and connected before you open any other Rithmic platform.

NinjaTrader on Rithmic

NinjaTrader can also be run on the Rithmic side instead of CQG, added under Connections and Configure with System set to Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago). Plug-in mode for market data is ticked if you are routing through R Trader Pro.

Quantower

Quantower is the modern multi-asset terminal with strong depth-of-market tooling. TradeDay asks that you run the latest version, and the connection settings enable market data, historical data and a predefined symbol list.

ATAS

ATAS is the dedicated order flow platform built on footprint charts, cluster analysis and market depth, added under Home and Connections with the Rithmic Chicago server.

MotiveWave

MotiveWave is a comprehensive analysis suite, best known for its Elliott Wave tooling, configured through the Workspaces menu.

Bookmap

Bookmap visualises full order book liquidity over time. You need your own paid Bookmap licence with futures support, and it requires level 2 market data. Select Trading mode at startup, then add a Rithmic connection.

Sierra Chart

Sierra Chart is the fast, highly customisable charting and execution package. It connects through Rithmic Direct DTC, and the setup asks you to wait roughly fifteen seconds after selecting the service so Sierra can pull the Rithmic details.

EdgeProX

EdgeProX connects through the Edge Clear Rithmic service, configured as a workspace with the Chicago Area environment.

Finamark

Finamark connects under Data Service Settings with the service set to Rithmic, system Rithmic Paper Trading and gateway Americas.

VolFix

VolFix specialises in volume cluster and order flow analysis. TradeDay notes that VolFix requires R Trader to sign the CME licence first.

WealthCharts

WealthCharts is added through Settings, Additional Connection and Rithmic, with the Chicago gateway and Rithmic Paper Trader system.

MultiCharts

MultiCharts is the professional charting, backtesting and strategy automation package, connected through QuoteManager under Tools and Data Sources.

Overcharts

Overcharts is a volume profile and order flow charting package, connected from the Connections tab with the Rithmic Paper Trader Chicago connection point.

Final Comments

Two setup rules catch people out. R Trader Pro must be open and connected before you launch any other Rithmic platform, and your Rithmic user ID is your TradeDay username including the TD_ prefix. On mobile, Tradovate has both a dedicated iOS and Android app and a browser login, and ProjectX is fully mobile-friendly across Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. NinjaTrader own mobile app does not work with the evaluation account.
