Topstep Payout Methods, Frequency and Speed
The Simple Answer
Topstep offers five payout methods: Prop-to-Brokerage, Aeropay, Wise, ACH and Wire/SWIFT. The minimum request is $125 on all of them and the profit split is 90/10 in your favour. Speed ranges from same day on Prop-to-Brokerage and instant on Aeropay through to 5 to 10 business days on international wires. How often you can request depends on the account: Express accounts need 5 winning days of $150 or a 3 day consistency path, and once you have 30 winning days in a Live Funded Account you unlock daily payouts.
Payout Overview
Breakdown by Payout Method
Prop-to-Brokerage Payouts
The fastest route Topstep offers and the only one with no fee and same-day settlement, provided you request by 12 PM CT. It is US only, and it moves your payout directly into a brokerage account rather than a bank. If you are US-based and trade elsewhere as well, this is the option worth setting up first.
Aeropay
Aeropay pays instantly once your payout is approved, which makes it the quickest option for most US traders. It works with US banks only and Topstep charges no fee for it, though Topstep notes that your bank or Aeropay itself may charge their own. Remember that internal approval still takes 1 to 3 business days before the instant transfer happens.
Wise
Wise is the international workhorse and the only no-fee option available outside the US. It covers both international and domestic transfers and settles in 1 to 3 business days. Topstep charges nothing for it, but Wise applies its own conversion and transfer fees, so the amount landing in your account will differ from the amount requested.
ACH
ACH is available to US banks only, settles in 1 to 3 business days and carries a $30 fee. Topstep publishes a worked example that is worth internalising before choosing it: a $500 request less $50 for the 10 percent split less the $30 processing fee leaves $420 received. On small payouts that fee is a meaningful percentage, so ACH suits larger, less frequent requests.
Wire / SWIFT
Wire and SWIFT is the international bank route, taking 5 to 10 business days and carrying the same $30 fee as ACH. It is the slowest option Topstep offers and generally only worth using if Wise is unavailable in your country.
Qualification Requirements
Profit split
Topstep pays a 90/10 split, so you keep 90 percent. Traders who joined the new Topstep dashboard before 12 January 2026 keep 100 percent of their first $10,000 in lifetime profits, after which the 90/10 split applies.
Payout limits by account
The minimum payout is $125 on every method. Express Funded Accounts let you request 50 percent of the account balance up to a cap that depends on size and path: Standard caps at $2,000 on a 50K, $3,000 on a 100K and $5,000 on a 150K, while the Consistency path caps at $3,000, $4,000 and $6,000. Traders who voluntarily add a Daily Loss Limit at checkout unlock double per-request caps, taking the 150K Consistency path to $12,000. Live Funded Accounts are not capped at all: request up to 50 percent of your balance with no dollar ceiling, and after 30 non-consecutive winning days of $150 or more in the LFA you unlock daily payouts of as much of your unlocked balance as you want. Note that requesting a full 100 percent payout closes the Live account, because the balance drops to the Maximum Loss Limit.
What Traders Say About Topstep Payouts
On Trustpilot, Topstep holds 3.6 out of 5 from 14,656 reviews. Filtering those reviews for payout specifically, the twenty most relevant break down as 13 five-star, 1 four-star, 6 one-star. That payout sample is what the rest of this section describes, and it can differ from the headline score.
What traders praise
The positive payout reviews cluster around support rather than speed alone. Traders name individual agents who resolved IBAN and bank detail problems quickly, and several describe first payouts processed without friction. Wise transfers are mentioned as working well once a processing issue cleared.
What traders complain about
The negatives are about administration rather than refusal. One trader reports a first payout sent to the wrong bank account, with the bank then requiring a Letter of Indemnity to recover it. Another had an account closed because the payment card was in a spouse’s name. Several complain that taking a payout drops the account balance in a way they did not expect.
The general consensus
Topstep is not accused of withholding money, but the payout process has more administrative edges than most. Get your banking details and KYC exactly right before your first request, because corrections are slow.
Final Comments
Payout terms are the part of a prop firm offer that matters most once you are actually profitable, and they are also the part most likely to change without much notice. Check the method, the minimum and the frequency against your own withdrawal habits before you buy, because a fast payout you cannot qualify for is worth less than a slower one you can.
